*~*~*~* J-E-L-L-O ~*~*~*~

Mmmm....orange JELLO!

There was a time that JELLO was the cure for just about any sickness one had.

Tonsils out?
Chicken pox?
The flu?
Surgery of any kind?
Just have a baby?
Hello!
Jello!

Yes.
Jello was fit for what 'ailed ya'....
or at least it was when I was growing up.

I've tried to faithfully carry on that tradition.

This week, I had to pull out the familiar box and boil the kettle and of course, get the glass bowl out, no other kind will do...

My teenager had his wisdom teeth surgically removed so I'm doing all that soft food diet thing and
J-E-L-L-O
is just what the doctor ordered!

ORANGE is my go-to flavor.
It's cheery and pretty and it tastes the best
especially when you're sick!

By the way, Luke is doing really well.  He got sick from the anesthesia when he woke up, and that was the worst!

I'm sure his surgeon must have done a stellar job, the teeth were impacted but so far, no swelling on the outside, no bruising on the outside, seems to be healing well.  We iced it yesterday and are doing moist heat today as well as gargling with salt water and taking the antibiotic.  He is taking the high-dose Ibuprofin only twice a day and we are faithfully following the discharge orders.  He hopes to be back to school Monday because he has two big tests then.

The next big thing?  Driver's Education!  I am not ready for that, quite.

WHAT'S YOUR J.E.L.L.O. FLAVOR?

Drivers Ed is kind of like removing parent's impacted teeth; one at a time and without anesthesia.

CHERRY JELLOoooooooooooooooooo...

It sounds weird but the only time we make jello is for christmas and Easter dinner!
No idea why!
Must have been my mother in laws influence! Certain dishes you get at certain holidays!

I think I might just whip up a bowl of jello for hubby and the grands this weekend!

Smiles, Dolly

Red Jello is my favorite! Doesn't matter which flavor as long as it's red! My husband loves jello (orange is his favorite). I could make it every day and he'd be happy.
My mom, and then I carried on the tradition, used to make jello water for us when we were sick. She'd make the jello and then not put it in the fridge. She'd give it to us still warm. Sounds weird now, but it was comforting back then.
When my friend from Belgium came to visit a few years ago, she took boxes of Jello home with her. They don't sell it there. Her husband hates it. The first time he was served it, in a restaurant in Florida, he just looked at it and asked, "Am I supposed to eat this blubber?"

My favorite is cherry -- but my aunt used to make a jello salad every Easter with I believe lemon jello -- and all kinds of weird stuff in it. Tasted great, but was turned off when I was old enough to know what was used -- I think it was carrots, celery and pineapple??? But it does just scream Easter to me!! I may just have to whip some up -- and keep the ingredients a secret.....
My best to your son.

I have a Jello recipe to share! lol I take Lime jello, put the 1 cup of hot water with the jello, add a little fresh lime and then put about 1/3 cup softened cream cheese in. Mash mash mash...then add the other cup of cold water. When it jells the cream cheese comes to the top. I also make it with Lemon! Gives it more of a dessert feel! heehee! Let me know if you try it! ♥

Your pictures made my mouth water, although I think I'm more of a Jello Pudding fan (chocolate all the way, baby).
